POP-UP HOOD at Geylang Serai
Participatory Design Project
Group Project
The POP-UPHood @ Geylang Serai is a ground-up initiative, a collaborative effort to enliven public spaces within our neighbourhoods through the arts and culture. By exercising a participatory design approach, we hope to inspire youths and the local community to take agency in the making of our built environment. This project strives to celebrate the unique
identity of Geylang Serai, putting emphasis on its historic and cultural significance in the Malay community. No longer should our livelihood be tied towards the ground, but set free to roam as part of this autonomous and mobile ecology.
As a part of this initiative, my team organised multiple workshops and participatory design activities to work with the community, engaging them in the design of their own community space.
