Amidst the untamed hills of Knuckles Mountain Range, we proposed a quiet and unassuming destination for a retreat. Deserted as it was, the mountain range was subject to strong, cold winds and extreme weathers. Solid as a rock and utilizing natural local materials, the design projects a sense of security and warmth. Its massing borrows from the dynamics of its surrounding rocks, adapting to - and accentuating - the uneven landscape. I was mainly in charge of proposing the design of the clubhouse, accommodating programmes such as a library, a bar and a restaurant.
